How to Build an Audience That Actually Feeds Your Main Offer (PART 1)

If you’ve ever felt frustrated creating content, posting consistently, and still wondering why it’s not turning into real momentum in your business, this conversation is for you.

Last week, I shared why focusing on one main offer is one of the most powerful decisions you can make in your business. After that episode, I had several women reach out with the same question:

“Okay, I’m focusing on one offer… but what does that actually look like in real life?”

That question is exactly what inspired this January series, The 4 Moves That Set Your Business Up for a Strong Year. And we’re starting with the foundation that everything else depends on.

Your audience.

Because no matter how good your offer is, if you don’t have an audience, you don’t have anyone to serve. And if you don’t have anyone to serve, you don’t have a business.

Why Audience Matters More Than You Think

Audience building is not about becoming popular. It’s not about going viral. And it’s definitely not about being everywhere all the time.

Audience is about proximity.

It’s about having real people paying attention to your message. People who understand what you do. People who trust you. People who could one day become clients, students, or referrals.

One of the biggest mistakes I see women make is trying to grow an audience without any connection to an offer. They post randomly. They follow trends. They share whatever feels right that day. And months later, they feel exhausted and confused about why their business isn’t growing.

Your audience should exist for a reason. And that reason is your main offer.

Every piece of content you create should quietly point back to the thing you want to be known for. Not in a salesy way. In a strategic way.

Visibility vs. a Qualified Audience

Not all attention is equal.

You can have people watching your content who will never need what you offer. Or you can build a smaller audience of people who are deeply aligned with the problem you solve.

The goal is not more eyes. The goal is the right eyes.

That’s why audience building works best when it’s intentional and connected to your offer. When you know what you’re building, content creation becomes clearer. You stop reacting. You start choosing.

A Simple Long-Form Content Strategy That Works

This year, my personal focus for audience growth is long-form content.

Once a week, I sit down and go deep on one topic for about fifteen to twenty minutes. I record video and audio at the same time. That single recording becomes my podcast episode and my YouTube video.

From there, I use the transcript to create:

  • A blog post
  • A newsletter
  • Short video clips for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
  • Written posts for Threads
  • A carousel for Instagram
  • A Pinterest post

One focused session turns into multiple pieces of content throughout the week, all connected to the same message and the same main offer.

I’ve only recently started doing this consistently, so I don’t have a year of data yet. But what I can tell you is that it feels aligned. It feels sustainable. And it feels so much better than spending hours creating one social post that barely reaches anyone.

The takeaway here isn’t to copy my exact system. It’s to understand the principle.

Choose one place to go deep, then let that depth ripple outward.

If video feels hard but writing feels natural, your long-form might be a weekly blog post or email. If audio feels easiest, maybe it’s a podcast. The format matters less than consistency and clarity.

Borrowing Other People’s Audiences

When your audience is still small, waiting around for organic growth can feel discouraging. That’s why there are two main ways to grow an audience:

You can pay for attention, or you can borrow attention.

Paying looks like ads. Borrowing looks like relationships.

Borrowing other people’s audiences has always been one of my favorite strategies. It can look like:

  • Creating a referral system where happy clients talk about you
  • Collaborating with people in your niche
  • Guest teaching or speaking
  • Being introduced by someone your audience already trusts

When someone else says, “I trust this person,” you gain authority much faster than when you’re only talking about yourself.

You don’t need to reach everyone. You need to reach the right rooms.

Instead of asking, “How do I grow faster?” ask, “Where does my audience already hang out, and how can I show up there with value?”

How This Supports One Main Offer

Everything comes back to focus.

Audience building is not about creating more offers. It’s about guiding people toward the offer you already believe in.

When your content, collaborations, and visibility efforts all point to one main offer, things feel simpler. You stop reacting. You start choosing.

And that clarity creates confidence, both for you and for the people watching you.

What to Do This Week

You don’t need to overhaul everything at once. Start with one small decision.

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I currently showing up?
  • Does it support my main offer?
  • Where could I go deeper instead of wider?
  • Who already has access to the people I want to serve?

Those answers will guide your next step.

What’s Coming Next

This episode is Part 1 of a four-part series.

Next week, we’re talking about How to Create Supporting Offers That Strengthen Your Main Offer. We’ll break down entry-level offers, upsells, cross-sells, and downsells, and how to use them to guide people toward your main offer without overwhelming them.
