Building Your Business God’s Way vs The World’s Way
Are you building your business God’s way… or are you building it the way the world taught you to and just asking Him to bless it?
That question changed my entire foundation.
Since accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my business has been the area of my life that has required the deepest pruning. Not because it collapsed. Not because it failed. But because I had to face something uncomfortable:
My business had quietly become an idol.
If you are a Christian entrepreneur trying to integrate faith into your business, especially if you came to Christ later in life like I did, this conversation might resonate deeply.
For almost two decades, I built my business exactly the way the world teaches you to build.
Strategic.
Disciplined.
Ambitious.
Performance driven.
And it worked.
I built a multi six figure business. My launches converted. My offers scaled. My reputation grew. I worked with entrepreneurs in the new age space, tarot readers, manifestation coaches, energy healers, yoga teachers. I was “inclusive.” I would say things like, “God or the Universe, whatever you want to call it.”
But when I met Jesus, something shifted.
The first time I heard myself say that sentence after truly knowing Him, it didn’t feel inclusive anymore. It felt diluted.
How could I speak about the Creator of everything as if He were interchangeable with creation itself?
That was the moment I knew the center had to change.
Here are the three mindset shifts that completely transformed how I build my business.
1. I Took Myself Out of the Center
For years, my business existed to serve me.
My growth.
My income.
My validation.
My goals.
Even though I was helping people, I was still sitting at the center.
Then I learned something that reshaped everything. The concept of JOY:
Jesus first.
Others second.
You third.
God did not bless me with gifts and talents for my own elevation. He entrusted them to me for the benefit of others.
When I examined my business honestly, I realized I had reversed the order. I was first. Revenue was first. Recognition was first.
Now I see my business as ministry.
Not performative ministry. Not branding. But stewardship.
This is a space I manage for Jesus to work on and through me. If someone wants to build an offer solely to make money, I am no longer aligned for that work.
Because when you sit at the center, you carry the weight of everything.
And that weight eventually crushes you.
2. You Cannot Build the World’s Way and Expect God to Bless It
Last year I had several launches that I privately labeled as failures.
The strategy was strong.
The execution was clean.
The messaging was clear.
But the revenue did not meet my expectations.
I was frustrated.
Instead of adjusting copy or optimizing ads, I took a full day to analyze what those launches had in common.
The answer was uncomfortable.
Revenue was the primary measurement of success.
Even if I used purpose driven language, income was still the driving force.
And I realized something sobering:
You cannot build a business around serving yourself and expect God to fund it.
If you are too busy building something He never asked you to build, and you have no time left to fulfill His assignment on your life, why would He bless it?
That realization forced me to stop.
I fasted.
I prayed.
I paused.
I refused to move until I had clarity.
And I learned that obedience matters more than optimization.
3. I Rebuilt the Foundation, Not the Strategy
Externally, my business still looks strategic.
I still design premium online programs.
I still build funnels.
I still create launch strategies.
But internally, everything is different.
Instead of building to prove what I can do, I build to steward what He placed in me.
Instead of asking how big this can grow, I ask how deeply I can serve.
Instead of obsessing over scale, I evaluate alignment.
The external structure may look similar.
The internal experience is completely different.
Here is what I now know:
You can have the right funnel, the right offer, the right positioning and still feel spiritually misaligned if you are sitting at the center of what you are building.
When you are the source of your business, you carry the pressure.
When Jesus is the source, you carry responsibility, but not the burden.
That shift changed everything.
Why I Rebranded My Business and My Life
This shift did not stop at messaging or offers.
It affected the rooms I sit in.
The friendships I cultivate.
The way I position myself online.
The way I support my husband in leading our family.
It required a full realignment.
Because building your business God’s way is not just about revenue strategy. It is about surrender.
And surrender is not always easy.
But it is eternal.
For the Christian Entrepreneur Feeling Misaligned
If you are profitable but restless…
If you are scaling but uneasy…
If something feels off even though the numbers look fine…
Pause.
Ask yourself:
Am I building something impressive?
Or am I building something obedient?
As a faith based business strategist, I no longer help women scale without examining the center first.
We clarify who God created you to be.
We identify what He placed inside of you.
We align your offer with your calling.
Then we design the strategy.
Because scale magnifies whatever foundation it sits on.
If you feel called to reevaluate your business, even if you are not launching anything new, I would love to connect.

But it is the only one that carries eternal weight.
